The Executive Committee of the International Rural Sociology Association is pleased to provide a limited number of competitive scholarships for young and meritorious rural sociologists from less developed regions who wish to attend the XII World Congress of Rural Sociology in Goyang, Korea. Each scholarship will include $1,000 to offset expenses for travel and accommodations. In addition, the congress registration fee will be waived. Recipients will receive their awards upon arrival at the World Congress site. All rural sociologists from International Sociological Association Category "B" and "C" countries are eligible to apply.
Scholarships will be awarded to paper or poster presenters on the basis of an exceptional abstract, which will be determined by a scholarship awards committee appointed by the Executive Committee.
